Whitby Town can go level on points with leaders AFC Telford United on Saturday after a hard-fought 2-1 win over local rivals Gateshead in front of the Turnbull Ground's largest crowd of the season- 357.

Lee Nogan's men have lost just once in their last eight outings and defeated opponents Lincoln United 2-0 at the Turnbull back in August. But United are likely to provide stubborn opposition- despite only scoring eight times in the league, they've earned 19 points and sit 10th in the league after conceding just ten times.

Telford face a tricky trip to Prescot Cables, second-placed Hesdnesford visit Mossley and third-placed Guiseley are involved in the FA Cup, so three points would definitely see Town enter the top three for the first time since April 2005.

The Seasiders could soon welcome back left-winger Karl Richards who has been sidelined since suffering a knee injury at Kendal, six weeks ago.

Town will be keen to avoid a repeat of last season's trip to the land of potato fields though. Then managed by Dave Logan, the Blues suffered a 2-0 defeat when going through a strike crisis of their own.

Kick-off at Ashby Avenue is 3.00pm and admission is £6 and £3.

Yeah I noticed that. Hence there was no mention of the Town legend.

This has got 0-0 written all over it really.

Lincoln 6 homes 2 wins and only scored 3... okay

Whitby 7 aways 2 wins and only scored 7...

Not being mid-week more hopeful of getting something from here.

Just not possible Barney I'm afraid. If I thought we'd win without me being there then i'd stay at home, however the lure is too great, especially as Lincoln is about 40minutes away now they have the dual carriage way between it and Newark  okay

I'm coming back to UK next week for three or four days. Depending on flights, hoping to get to at least one of Ossett or Shepshed or both if lucky. Osset will be easiest, as near to Leeds. Are you going to that game? Unfortunately the gooseman has work commitments.

 Sad Sad

Never mind. I will have to break the jinx on my own.

Thing is we always win when I go to the home games.
