Arran Wearmouth says that he is ‘over the moon’ to pick up three points in yesterday’s 2-1 victory over Morpeth Town.
The versatile player began the match at right wing-back before being moved into attack following Greg Rutherford’s injury.
Looking at the game as a whole, he was just happy that his team could claim their second win of the Bank Holiday weekend.
“I’m over the moon with that,” said Wearmouth.
“It was a bit of a derby for this league and it was tough game, especially after only playing on Saturday.
“We’ve only had one day’s rest and there are a few injuries so it’s great to get six points out of two games.”
On another hot day, the game was always likely to be difficult, however Wearmouth feels that his side dealt with things well.
As ever, he was making a nuisance of himself throughout the game and his energy levels were excellent.
“Thankfully we’ve come out on top,” Wearmouth said.
“We had to work really hard to get that win and we managed the game well which is pleasing.
“Even when they went down to ten men, I feel that we continued to manage the game well.”
