Full-back, Bradley Mills wants to put yesterday’s 3-0 defeat to Matlock Town behind him and look ahead to next Saturday’s FA Cup tie.

Following eight consecutive victories in all competitions, Mills was extremely disappointed for that run to come to an end in the manner in which it did.

He revealed that the feeling in the dressing room wasn’t pleasant due to the flat atmosphere.

“The lads are naturally disappointed,” Mills made clear.

“Having won eight in a row it was flat in the dressing room due to the disappointment.

“I just want to look ahead and begin preparations for a big FA Cup next week.”

Despite the margin of Matlock’s victory, the defender feels that there wasn’t an awful lot between the two sides across the 90 minutes.

Particularly in the first half, Whitby created several chances to get themselves in front but were unable to take them.

“It was very nip and tuck in the first half,” Mills said.

“I think the times of the goals have killed us a little bit. It’s not great conceding just before and just after half-time.

“As I’ve mentioned before we’ve got to really go for that big FA Cup game next week.”

In the build-up to Matlock’s opener, it appeared as if Brad Mills had been fouled in the attacking third.

The referee was prepared to give the decision before changing his mind and letting Matlock break.

“Not being biased, that was definitely a foul on me,” Mills admitted.

“I got myself between the man and the ball. I wouldn’t choose to go down in that position if it wasn’t a foul.

“I don’t like criticising officials but they’ve definitely called that one wrong and the timing of it really wasn’t great.”
