Whitby Town managing director Graeme Hinchliffe would like to thank all who have donated to the 1926 Players Fund, which has enabled the loan signing of centre half Matt Elsdon.

Graeme confirmed that Chris Hardy and his team had their improved budget from last season and were struggling this early on to assist in more funds.

This was remedied, however, from the funds that have been donated by the fans into the 1926 Club.

“This is exactly what the 1926 Club is all about,” Hinchliffe said.

“It is purely for playing matters, to assist in loan signings and player acquisition.

“I would like to give a big thank you to all who have donated. It has helped the club out and assisted in a difficult conversation between myself and Chardy.”

The club would also like to congratulate Chris and his team on a good start to the season, and are delighted that the fans are helping the club build on that early success.
